Nick Boulle’s love of racing is as sincere as his commitment to his family and their jewelry business. But after a recent first-place finish, Boulle is talking a bit more about his driving than diamonds.
Boulle and his teammate Tom Dillmann secured first place at the 2024 Chevrolet Grand Prix on July 14 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park in what has been described as a “flawless performance” on the track. The duo races with Inter Europol by PR1/Mathiasen Motorsports, and this was Boulle’s first time in this race.
“All of that effort, work, and training comes together in a focus point,” Boulle says. “You can watch it happening, and it’s a super-gratifying thing. It’s about how well you work with your co-driver, how well you communicate with your engineers, your mechanics, your pit crew. You get to see all of your hard work pay off.”
Boulle is the president of deBoulle Diamond & Jewelry, which he co-owns and manages with his family. The business has two retail locations in Dallas and Houston, and Boulle splits his time between both stores. He also is the father to a brand-new baby girl, and Boulle credits his wife, Allison Bereswill Boulle, for giving him the time and patience to continue to pursue racing as they get used to being parents.
The Boulle family—from dad Denis to mom Karen to Nick—are all intimately involved in deBoulle Motorsports, which they founded in 2004. Boulle started racing go-karts when he was 12 and graduated to endurance racing in recent years. Boulle’s biggest win was the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January 2017.
Boulle says every family member involved in the jewelry stores and motorsports sees the two parts of the business as supporting one another. They bring equal intensity to what they source and sell at their boutiques, and they invest deeply in racing because they collectively enjoy going to the track together.
Together, they have competed with Boulle behind the wheel across the United States, Canada, and Europe. Some races he’s experienced include the Classic 24 Hours of Daytona, Petit Le Mans, Total 24 Hours of Spa, 24 Hours of Le Mans, IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Rolex 24 at Daytona, and Circuit of the Americas.
At the June race, Boulle and Dillmann won the LMP2-led round of the IMSA SportsCar Championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. The race was approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes and featured a 34-car entry grid.
“I’m fortunate because I’m passionate about our jewelry business and motorsport. I love what I do for a living,” Boulle says. “I grew up loving cars, and so does my dad. We got connected to motorsports through our business—a family friend in Dallas invited my dad and me out to a racetrack when I was 10 or 11, and he let me sit in the passenger seat of a race car.… It snowballed from there.”
